In Tunisia men wear lipstick to stand firm against woman abuses!

It’s usual for women to wear lipstick in order to spruce up and draw people’s attention. At Woman`s International Day, many Tunisian men wore lipstick and published their photographs through different social media to show solidarity and curb all kinds of woman abuses. Some people claim that wearing lipstick in such situations is not a debasement of man’s dignity, but a commitment to protect woman and stand by her to regain her rights. They maintain that wearing lipstick is an indication that the Tunisian man is fully aware of woman’s rights and is ready to be involved in defending her from all abuses and molestation. They assert that the campaign is reliable for it will catch people’s attention. The French did manage to attract people’s attention when they put on a skirt to show solidarity. I think it’s so absurd and ridiculous to wear lipstick since it’s a blind imitation. Standing firm against woman abuses does not lie in wearing lipstick. Have you ever helped women with the domestic chores on days off? Have you ever treated her with more consideration? Woman is no longer a housemaid. The Tunisian society is so conservative that it can’t, by any stretch of the imagination, accept such actions. We should talk to the society with a language that can be made out and assimilated rather than a blind imitation and extrinsic ideas. I strongly believe that family is the nucleus from which we start to sensitize people to violence against woman
